Small mountain township, located on a natural balcony towering over the Serre-Ponçon lake, half way between Savines le Lac (chef lieu of teh district) and the Réallon ski resort. Saint-Apollinaire a small peaceful village, is a major place for contemplation.

From 113 permanent inhabitants in the low season, the population grows to  250 - 300 inhabitants during hollidays. Initially an essentially agricultural township, it becomes through the progressive closure of the farms, a residential township..

Approximately 2,5 km above the village you will find the Saint-Apollinaire  lake(1452m). A municipal camping, created in 1985, a small restaurant, a snack - mini-golf, and several liberal professions are available in the township.
